Ethics of Sleep (2011)
Robert Creeley called Ethics of Sleep the best book he’s ever read; Franz Boas named the book “the mythology of the 21st century.” It holds a rich landscape of Mayer’s dream world, filled with lists of hypnagogic word clusters, meditations on methods of sleep. The result is playful, illuminating, a hybrid of dreams and waking, memory and vision. Ethics of Sleep captures well the “stimulating rovings of [Mayer’s] mind.”
